BREACH

BREACH

This work seeks to capture the spirit of the present time, evoking Ireland’s economic and social turbulence in both the rural and urban landscape. Breach is a large digital photographic installation. The work is a passage of time through sequential images that range in size and shape. Some of the images are  silkscreened and sprayed black with peep hole views or with a gridded layer to focus on a particular contained viewpoint. A pictorial device that also acts as a barrier or blurring of the original photograph underpinning  the prevailing a sense of dislocation. Hehir’s shots are bleak and uncompromising and do not respond to conventional categories of the picturesque while Noonan’s oscillate between the bleak and allusion to the notion of sublime and reverent.
